Health care again

As this article in yesterday's NYT points out, millions of middle-income Americans are about to face something that the working poor have had to live with for many years now -- health-care rationing on the basis of cost. Which will inevitably lead to an interesting question for middle-class voters: Who do you want doing the rationing the next time your kid is seriously ill -- Adam Smith or Ted Kennedy?

For what it's worth, I suspect that an awful lot of conservatives are going to be surprised -- and very displeased -- by the answer.
