Earlier this week, I carefully (respectfully, even) began to express my concerns about the ongoing empowerment of the activist wing of the Democratic party. The Moderate Voice's Joe Gandelman examines the issue further here.

I truly don't understand people's fear of MoveOn and their ilk. I was a MoveOn precinct leader. I knocked on doors, talked to voters, got them to pledge to come out to vote. That's radical? No. That's getting off your ass and doing something.
And talk about a string of defeats, what has the DLC won lately? As far as they're concerned, there is no Democratic Party, just a collection of individuals who are going to ape the Republicans but just be not so nasty and hope it works out.
